Enough is Enough.
It's time to take back control over our teens mental health.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’re a parent feeling frustrated, exhausted, or just downright confused about how to handle your teen. Maybe you’re worried about their mental health, struggling with their attitude, or just wondering why they seem to talk in grunts and eye rolls.
I get it. And you’re in the right place.
For too long, parents have been left feeling powerless when it comes to supporting their teens’ mental health. We’re told to wait for professional help, only to be met with long waiting lists or rejection because our child doesn’t ‘meet the criteria.’ Meanwhile, our teens are struggling, lost in a system that isn’t built to catch them in time. Enough is enough. It’s time for parents to take back control.
That’s why I created Parentology World, a space where you can get the real knowledge, strategies, and support you need to confidently guide your teen through the challenges of adolescence. No more waiting, no more feeling helpless - you have the power to make a difference right now.
Visit here to access free resources, workshops, and coaching, or reach out to me directly if you need guidance. You are absolutely NOT alone!
I’m Laura Thomas, a teen and family therapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health. But more importantly, I’m a mum of two teenagers myself. I know firsthand what it’s like to stay up at night worrying, to feel like you’re constantly guessing, and to wonder if you’re getting it all wrong.
The truth? You’re not.
And that’s exactly why I started Parentology World - to give parents the confidence, knowledge, and tools to support their teens’ mental health in a way that actually works.
The Moment Everything Changed
I’ve worked with countless teens and parents over the years, but one moment has always stuck with me. A mum brought her daughter to see me. She was exhausted, desperate, and out of options. Her daughter sat in front of me, hands clenched, picking at the skin around her nails. She had been turned away from mental health services—told she didn’t ‘meet the criteria’ for help. But the scars on her arms told me otherwise.
And I thought to myself, ‘This is ridiculous’
How many parents are crying out for help, only to have doors slammed in their faces? How many teenagers are slipping through the cracks because the system is overstretched and broken? I knew there had to be another way. That’s when I wrote my first book, Parenting Unstoppable Girls, and from there, Parentology World was born.
Because here’s the thing - mental health services are essential, but parents are the real front line. And with the right knowledge and strategies, you absolutely can support your teen’s mental health, just like you would if they had a physical illness. You just need the tools.
How I Help Parents (And Why It’s Different)
There’s a lot of parenting advice out there, and most of it falls into one of two camps:
Super fluffy, ‘just love them more’ advice – Well-meaning, but not exactly practical when your teen is slamming doors and refusing to talk to you.
Rigid, one-size-fits-all techniques – The kind that make you feel like a failure when they don’t work for your child.
My approach? It’s different.
I teach parents why teenagers act the way they do. When you understand how the teenage brain works, why they push boundaries, and what’s actually happening under the surface, you stop taking their behaviour personally. You stop reacting out of frustration. And suddenly, everything shifts.
My Philosophy: Knowledge Is Power
I believe that knowledge changes everything. When parents understand the psychology behind their teen’s behaviour, they can respond with confidence instead of fear. They can recognise stress, low moods, and attitude for what they really are - signs of a developing brain struggling to make sense of the world.
Teenagers are supposed to mess up. They are supposed to push back. They are supposed to give you a hard time. It’s how they learn. But how we respond to them is what truly shapes them.
They can’t change the way their brain works, but we can change how we guide them through it.
What I Offer
Parentology World isn’t just about advice - it’s about practical, actionable support that actually helps.
Books – My books break down teen mental health in a way that’s clear, relatable, and (dare I say it) even enjoyable to read.
Membership – A supportive space where parents can get ongoing advice, live Q&As, and expert resources—without the stress of waiting lists and referrals.
1:1 Coaching – Sometimes you just need tailored support to get to the root of what’s going on. That’s where my coaching comes in.
Workshops – Short, sharp, and packed with insight, my workshops give you exactly what you need to handle real-life parenting challenges.
Freebies – Because every parent deserves access to solid, practical guidance, no matter their situation.
Where I See Parentology Going
Right now, I’m building something incredible. In the next year, I want to see the membership thriving, with regular workshops giving parents the immediate, practical help they need. In five years? I want a full team of therapists delivering this message on a much bigger scale - a massive parent support network that’s completely separate from the GP, NHS, or education system. A private, off-the-record space where parents can get the help they need without the red tape.
Because we don’t have to wait for services to catch up. We can take back the power and do this ourselves.
